JBL Xtreme 2 can last up to 15 hours which is a little bit lame – even JBL Charge 3 has the 20 hours of playtime. They may not always match the advertised time, but that’s the common practice so don’t you worry. This, of course, depends on the usage, volume and other factors, but at the end of the day, you can rely on their batteries without any shadow of the doubt. Both speakers are qualified to produce enough power to last for quite some time. Maybe for some users it’s not a big deal, but at some point, connectivity factor becomes really, really important to everyone.Īnother interesting point is the battery life. UE Megaboom 3 has increased its range from 100ft to 150 ft compared to its predecessor, but as it turns out, it isn’t enough to outscore JBL Xtreme 2’s connectivity abilities. No matter how this comparison ends, one thing is clear, Megaboom 3’s design is more attractive and useful in every aspect. And don’t forget that Megaboom 3 weighs less and is smaller than its rival. It’s more beautiful, has more fancy colors and is more durable than Xtreme 2. In the design field of JBL Xtreme 2 vs UE Megaboom 3, it’s obvious that Megaboom 3 takes the lead. These speakers are IP67 rated, which means that they can withstand not only water, but also any kind of dirt, sand and more. But, the way UE upgraded Boom 3 and Megaboom 3 is completely out of charts. The point is – whatever you do, you won’t have to worry about the accidental drops of these speakers whether it’s water nearby or not. Both speakers have the rugged surface which makes them perfect for any kind of adventures. Yes, Xtreme 2 is completely waterproof (IPX7 certified) and it can even float on the water, but Megaboom 3’s durability is on another level. Well, apart from the dimensions, UE Megaboom 3 is far, far better in durability part than its rival. So, if you don’t appreciate taking an extra weighted speaker with you, Megaboom 3 is your guy here. Without any questions, Megaboom 3 is more flexible and easier to carry around. However, UE Megaboom 3 stands for 87 x 87 x 225 mm (W x D x H) and it nearly has the half weight of the Xtreme 2. Xtreme 2’s dimensions are 136 x 288 x 132 mm (W x D x H) and manufacturers claim that it’s easy to carry the speaker, since it has got the shoulder strap included. Apart from that Megaboom 3 is smaller and lighter than its rival. They also have different shapes – JBL Xtreme 2 lies horizontally and while UE Megaboom 3 stands vertically. So, that has to be taken into consideration. Let’s be honest, JBL hasn’t upgraded their speakers’ designs for a long time while UE’s main key upgrade at this point was the designs of Boom 3 and Megabooom 3. Megaboom 3 has some additional colors: Cloud & Denim – which are Apple Exclusive and Urban Magenta – T-Mobile Exclusive. UE Megaboom 3’s colors include Black, Blue, Red & Purple and look more stunning than Xtreme 2’s colors. The Blue color is especially amazing but compared to the Megaboom 3’s two-tone colors, Xtreme 2 seems a little bit dated. JBL Xtreme 2 comes in 5 general colors: Black, Blue, Red, Camouflage & Green. First of all, they have beautiful colors – you won’t meet big colors variety, but still, they look dazzling. In fact, they are alluring speakers which get the attention easily. JBL Xtreme 2 and UE Megaboom 3 have beautiful designs. So, get the comfortable seat, hold on tight and enjoy the ride. But honestly, both products are remarkable and excellent quality speakers and any user will be more than happy to have them in the future. Finally, we’ll determine which one is the better choice and of course, give the recommendations for what kind of users might be interested in one or another. We’ll evaluate their designs, analyze the features and compare their audio performances to each other. In order to fully understand their key advantages, we’re about to go through every single important detail of these devices. But today, we’re here to compare JBL Xtreme 2 vs UE Megaboom 3, as they appear to be the strong, loud and advanced featured speakers on the market. Oh, and by the way, JBL Charge 4 has some amazing features to blow out the JBL Charge 3, as well. Well, Xtreme 2 is JBL’s one of the most promising speaker and clearly, it has pretty good improvements over its predecessor. 2 JBL Xtreme 2 vs UE Megaboom 3: VerdictĮver since Ultimate Ears announced the release dates of Boom 3 and Megaboom 3, everybody knew that for the next few months, everybody would talk about if these new products can compete against JBL Speakers. ![]()

![]() So in conclusion, we have two flawed games, but one of them is much more flawed than the other. ![]() There are two magic carpet sequences one is frustrating in the same 'memorize or die' fashion as the Battletoads speeder level, and the other amounts to an overlong, incredibly boring bonus stage. It's got an automatically scrolling level, and games with those get instant demerits. Especially when it happens two or three times in a row. ![]() There's something that's just not right about completing an area, the music stopping, then the exact same track starting up again as you begin the next section. The music is aurally decent, but the tracks are super short and, damningly, every segment of each level has the same music. ![]() Well they aren't that much better than the lame Genesis ones, but at least the final boss is suitably epic and requires a little bit of a strategy to kill. The controls feel tighter, especially the jumping and air control, as befits a game with a much greater focus on jumping on and from stuff. Aladdin has more moves, like handspringing off of stuff, swinging from poles and rings, climbing up ledges, and floating with a blanket. Whereas the Genesis version had some hack and slash going on, the SNES one is a straight up jump-on-their-heads-to-kill-them platformer. The final boss is incredibly anticlimactic. Several later levels require you to ride on magic carpets that move super fast in erratic patterns, while enemies appear to take cheap shots at you (Your only defense? Mashing on the 'swing sword' button). The Cave of Wonders level has spikes that are almost completely indistinguishible from odinary ground all over the place, and the escape from it doesn't have a single checkpoint. I mentioned the foreground crap all over the dungeon level, but there's also a shit ton of annoying sliding block sequences that will make you pull your hair out. But suffice to say that the entire game is riddled with problems. I would have recorded more, but for some reason the combination of my Genesis emulator and my screen recording software was causing random system crashes, hence the abrupt end as I decided not to bite off my than my system could chew. The title screen music is decent, but its is all downhill from there. They don't even loop! Let them go long enough and they fade out, then restart a second later. The SNES version gets some flack for not having as many songs from the movie in there, but at least they don't sound like garbage. There's pillars and chains and shit obscuring your vision approximately 100% of the time down there. WTF? If you think the first level is bad, wait until you're in that dungeon level. Speaking of cheap, how about the enemy placement? Someone had the bright idea to put all these foreground objects all over the place, but if that wasn't bad enough, they put enemies directly behind them. Moving too fast for the camera is an extremely common occurrence and can lead to many cheap hits as enemies suddenly appear on the screen before you can react. Er, moving on, not many games had problems with the camera keeping track of the action on screen until the 3d era, but in this one instance, Aladdin on the Genesis is ahead of its time. No, seriously, the health gauge in that game was a tattoo on your character's boob. smoke? I think that's gotta be among the most inaccurate depictions of video game health, joining such infamous examples as the Resident Evil heart rate monitor thingy and the Trespasser boob tattoo. First of all, what's up with that health. I'll be blunt: I don't think that this is a very good game. In fact, there's quite a few, because Earthworm Jim is also a game with a solid concept and questionable execution. The Genesis version was made by some of the guys who would go on to form Shiny and become famous for Earthworm Jim, and knowing that fact you can definitely see some similarities in style between the two. ![]() Smaller gunshot splatter on pistols, smgs, and rifles.
